Bypass Microsoft Windows 7 Password Using Simple Tips

Posted on 02:36 by Unknown
Microsoft Windows 7 is an advanced operating system from Microsoft. It integrates several built-in features and utilities that stand it apart from other operating systems.

Recovering or bypassing login password is one of those great utilities that Microsoft Windows 7 offers. If you have lost or forgotten your Windows 7 login password for a standard or another admin account, then follow the below mentioned instructions to get through the login system.

Using Admin Account:

If the password you have forgotten or lost is of a standard user account and not of the admin one, then you can easily log into your admin account and reset the password. To do so, click the Start button, type ‘lusrmgr.msc’ (without quotes and as is) in the Start Search field, and hit Enter on the keyboard.

When prompted for admin password, input the password, and hit Enter. Click Local Users and Groups and then select Users. Right-click on the account that requires a password reset and click Set Password. When prompted, enter the new password, reenter to confirm, and hit Enter on the keyboard or click OK (whatever option you see there to proceed). It is to be noted that you will lose all the emails for this user account after resetting the password.

Using Windows 7 Disc\CD:

Insert the original Windows 7 OS disc in to the CD\DVD-ROM and boot your computer. When prompted ‘Press any key to boot from CD’, hit any key on the keyboard to proceed. Wait until the loading is finished. Press Enter on the keyboard to enter the Setup mode, press the F8 key on the keyboard to accept the license agreement, and then select Repair.

Wait until the repair process finishes and the computer automatically reboots itself. When you see this prompt ‘Installing Devices’ at the extreme bottom left hand side of the screen, press Shift and F10 keys together to open up the command prompt. Type ‘nusrmgr.cpl’ (without quotes and as is) and hit Enter on the keyboard.

On the User Accounts window, select the account (admin or standard user) that you want to reset the password for, and proceed by clicking Confirm or OK (whatever you see there). When done, exit all the windows and insert your Product ID when prompted. Now log on to your computer using the new computer. When done, exit the disc and place it in its case to keep at the safe place.

Using Password Reset Disk:

If you have a password reset disk, then you can use it to reset your password. Insert the disc into the DVD/CD ROM of your computer. Enter a wrong password to access the Reset password option. When the Reset password link comes up, click on it to initialize the Password Reset Wizard. Follow the wizard’s instructions and setup a new password for your account.

Using Advanced Safe Mode:

Reboot your computer and start tapping the F8 key on the keyboard before the Windows 7 logo appears on the screen. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, select the Safe Mode with Command Prompt option and hit Enter. Wait until Windows loads the black Command Prompt screen. When the screen comes up, type ‘net user’ and hit Enter. This will bring up the list of all the users registered on Windows 7. Type ‘net user ‘user account name new password’’ and hit Enter.

For example, your locked user account name is John Smith and your new password is 12345abc. You will type net user ‘John Smith 12345abc’ (quotes will only be used for username and password) in the command prompt. When the command is completed, you will have a new password for your locked account. Log on to your computer using the new password. This will only work for standard user account(s) and not for the admin password. You need to have an admin password to access Safe Mode option in Windows 7.

Download Automatic Password Recovery Tool:

Though it is not recommended but you can download and install a password recovery tool (software) from any trusted website. This automatic tool will help you recover all the passwords viz. admin or user account. You choose from a range of automatic password recover programs available online.

***It is to be noted that the password reset disk must have been created in advance before misplacing the password.

How to Update Device Drivers in Microsoft Windows 7

Posted on 03:04 by Unknown
Device Drivers are the software that let a device like sound/video card, network adapter, printer, Wi-Fi router, Roku etc. communicate to a computer to connect or for data transfer, file sharing purposes etc. While device drivers do so, these need to be updated from time to time for proper and better functioning of a device. I have observed that Microsoft Windows 7 has the most convenient ways of updating drivers compared to the previous OS versions. I'll discuss here how you can update your device drivers in your Windows 7 PC.

1. Click the Start button and type 'devmgmt.msc' in the Start Search box. As soon as you will type the command in the Search bar, you will see Devmgmt in search results right above the bar. Right-click Devmgmt.msc or Devmgmt and select Run as administrator.

2. If prompted for an admin password, type it in the box and click Yes, Continue or Submit whichever button you see on your screen to proceed. Remember, without admin privileges, you cannot update device drivers or make any other changes in Device Manager.

3. In the Device Manager window, look for the device whose drivers you want to update, then right-click it and select Update Driver Software. For example, if you want to update drivers of your VMware player, you will right-click it and make the above selection.

4. On the Update Driver Software window, you will be prompted 'How do you want to search for driver software?'. If you want Windows 7 to automatically search for the right drivers and install them, click the Search automatically for updated driver software option (see the image).

5. If you want to manually update the driver software, click the second option Browse my computer for driver software. To manually update drivers, you must have already downloaded the driver software file to your computer. Then you can manually update it on your Windows 7 PC.

6. If you selected the first option, Windows 7 will automatically search for the compatible, right device drivers and update them without your intervention. You will see a message or similar to Windows has successfully updated your driver software. Click Close to exit the dialog box. Close all the windows. Your device is now ready for use.

7. If you chose to manually update the drivers, You will see another window prompting you to locate the driver file. Click the Browse button and locate the file. Select the file from the Browse For Folder window. Click OK. When done selecting the location, click the Next button. See the image here:

8. Windows 7 will now start updating the driver software. When done, click Close to save the changes. If prompted, restart your Windows 7 computer. Windows 7 also gives you the option of installing drivers from a disk also. To install drivers from a disk, click the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer option on the same screen instead of clicking the Browse button.

9. Select the CD/DVD drive from the Browse For Folder window and click OK. Afterwards, click the Next button. Click the Have Disk button and click Next. When done, click the Close button. If prompted, restart your computer. That's it! You have successfully update the drivers of your Windows 7 computer. In case the device does not function properly, uninstall the driver software or restore your computer to an earlier date.

How to Fix Invalid Boot.ini Error in Microsoft Windows XP

Posted on 03:08 by Unknown
Shoot,  not again! You must be feeling this when you restart your computer and find a screen like this. Such type of error usually occurs in old Windows XP computers whose boot manager files go missing or become corrupt after an upgrade.

Well, there is a simple solution to your problem. However in order to get this solution to work, you will need to have your Windows XP installation media with you though there is another solution also that you will attempt first. Have a look at the steps below and fix Windows XP problems.

1. Insert the Windows XP installation disk into the drive of your computer and reboot it. When prompted to press a key, hit any key on the keyboard.

 2. On the Welcome to Setup screen, press the R key on the keyboard to get in to the Recovery Console.

 3. If you have more than one operating system installed on your computer, you will see them on the screen. Select Windows XP as your installation type and hit the Enter key. If you see Next, click it to proceed.

4. You might be prompted to enter your administrator password by Windows XP, so enter it and hit the Enter key. In the Command Prompt window, type 'bootcfg /list' (without quotes) and hit the Enter key again.

5.  Once you hit Enter, you will see a list of anonymous boot files on the screen. Now type 'bootcfg /rebuild' (without quotes) and hit Enter to proceed. This command will scan the hard drives on your computer. It will also show a list of anonymous results on the screen.

6. If you see this message 'Add installation to boot list? (Yes/No/All)' after the command completes, hit the Y key on the keyboard. It will now install the missing boot installation files on your Windows XP PC.

7. Next when you this message 'Enter Load Identifier' on the screen, type the name of your operating system and hit the Enter key. Since Windows XP is your OS, you will type 'Windows XP' (without quotes) and hit Enter.

8. When prompted to 'Enter OS Load options', type '/fastdetect' (without quotes) and hit the Enter key. That's it and you are done fixing the invalid Boot.ini error on your Microsoft Windows XP PC.
